Who Owns the City?

Who do I pay rent to? Why do rents keep rising? And who owns the city? Half of the flats in Berlin belong to a few thousand multi-millionaires, while internationally interconnected real estate groups dodge taxes and launder money. This information was gathered by studies of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung and served as the basis for this video. The project “Who Owns the City?” supports Berlin’s tenants in their search for the real owners of their flats, and thus provides the basis for an effective transparency register.
