Rapid urbanization, and a rapidly growing middle class, re-location of businesses, and travel to Africa for business and tourism are driving demand for new and modern offices, hotels and retail malls.

With demand comes greater prices and some cities in Africa have become havens for investors in the real estate market due to the high profits on investments. The AfrAsia Bank Africa Wealth report of 2019 has identified some of the cities in Africa that have the most expensive real estate.
